* 1 lb asparagus, trimmed&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 lb small shiitake mushrooms, rinsed, stems removed&lt;br /&gt;
* 2 T extra-virgin olive oil&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 t coarse salt&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 T balsamic vinegar&lt;br /&gt;
* salt &amp;amp; pepper to taste&lt;br /&gt;

=== Preparation ===&lt;br /&gt;
Preheat oven to 450°.  In a large bowl, toss the asparagus and mushrooms with olive oil to coat.  Sprinkle with coarse salt.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Spread vegetables on two cookie sheets so they are not touching.  Roast 20-25 minutes, shaking occasionally, until asparagus is browned and mushrooms are tender.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Arrange vegetables on plates or platter.  Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and season to taste.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Serve warm or at room temp.&lt;br /&gt;
