Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 c soured cream (soured whipping cream)
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 t nutmeg
  • 1 t soda
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 5 c (give or take) flour

Preparation

Mix all ingredients; chill for 2 hours. Pat out instead of rolling. Let cream turn sour then sour with vinegar or lemon juice. Fry at 380° in lard.
