Ingredients

  • 2 c quick oats
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 3/4 c butter
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/3 c peanut butter
  • 1 c chocolate chips

Preparation

Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, butter, soda, and salt until crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 c mixture; press remaining crumbs in greased 9x13 pan.

In a small bowl, stir together milk and PB; pour evenly over crumb mixture. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; top with reserved crumb mixture.

Bake at 350° for 25-35 minutes or until brown. Do not overbake. Allow to cool completely (~2 hours) before cutting.

  • Note: Quick oats and fat-free sweetened condensed milk are critical for the proper texture of the bars.
