I started making these in college when I found the recipe. They were a hit, to put it mildly. I often make them now for an easy pan of chocolately-goodness to share. They're really easy and quick to make.

Ingredients

Chocolate Filling

  • 1 can sweetened, condensed milk
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 c chocolate chips
  • 1 t vanilla

Crust

  • 1/2 c salted butter
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 c flour
  • 1 c oatmeal
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 c nuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°.

Melt together the milk, 2 T of butter and chocolate chips for the filling. Add vanilla and let it cool.

Cream the 1/2 cup butter and sugar together for the dough/crust. Add the egg and beat together until light. Mix in baking soda, oatmeal, and flour.

Pat 2/3 of the dough mixture into a 9x13 pan. Spread the chocolate filling over the dough. Mix the nuts into the remaining dough. Dot/crumble/spoon the remaining dough onto the filling.

Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.
