Ingredients
- 1 c butter-flavored shortening
- 1 1/4 c packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c malted milk powder
- 2 T chocolate syrup
- 1 T vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2 c all-purpose flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chunks
- 1 c (6 oz) milk chocolate chips (or vanilla)
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. Add malted milk powder, chocolate syrup and vanilla; beat for 2 minutes. Add egg. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips. Shape into 2" balls; place 3" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
