Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 1/3 c flour
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

Filling

  • 3/4 c corn syrup
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 1 c chopped pecans

Preparation

Combine all the ingredients for the crust except the chocolate chips. Beat at low speed until crumbly. Press onto the bottom of a 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until edges lightly browned. Sprinkle chips over crust.

While the crust is baking, combine the corn syrup, sugar, eggs, flour and vanilla for the filling. Beat at medium speed until well mixed. Stir in the chopped pecans by hand. Pour filling over hot crust. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes or until set.

Cool and cut into bars.
