Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 2 c sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 c almonds
- 1/4 t baking soda
- 1 c chocolate chips
- 1-2 T butter
- chopped nuts for topping
Preparation
Melt 1 lb butter, and stir in the sugar and salt. Bring to a boil for 15 minutes or when the temperature of the mixture reaches 300°, being careful not to burn the mixture. Add 1/4 cup almonds and remove from heat. Add the baking soda and mix well. Pour onto a cookie sheet and cool completely.
Melt the chocolate chips and remaining butter together. Stir well. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cooled candy and top with chopped nuts.
