Ingredients

  • 2 c Open Pit barbecue sauce
  • 1 small white onion, chopped (~1/2 c)
  • 4 T dark brown sugar
  • 3 T honey
  • 2 T red wine vinegar
  • 2 T crushed red pepper
  • 2 T dark molasses
  • 2 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 t liquid smoke

Preparation

Place Open Pit in a large saucepan, and warm over medium-high heat. Puree onion in a food processor fitted with a steel chopping blade, and scrape into the saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat mixture to a boil over high, stirring continually. Reduce heat and simmer 19-21 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let sauce cool to room temperature and refrigerate.
