Ingredients
- 50 caramels
- 1 c minus 2 T cream
- 2 c flour
- 2 c oatmeal
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 1/2 c butter
- 12 oz chocolate chips
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9x13 pan. Melt caramels and cream in a double boiler. Mix together ingredients, except chips. Pat 3/4 of flour/oatmeal mixture into greased pan, pressing firmly. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly.
Pour melted caramel over crust. Sprinkle liberally with chocolate chips. Crumble remaining flour/oatmeal mixture on the top. Bake an additional 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Do no overbake.
