This are very comparable to the Hip Padders recipe.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 c butter, softened
- 2 c brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 t vanilla
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t salt
- 3 c quick oatmeal
Filling:
- 12 oz pkg. chocolate chips
- 15 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 T butter
- 1/2 t salt
- 2 t vanilla
- 1 c nuts (optional)
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Stir in the oatmeal. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Set aside.
Make the filling: combine the chocolate chips, milk, and butter. Melt, when smooth, add the vanilla.
Spread 2/3 of the oatmeal mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 baking pan. Cover with the chocolate mixture. Crumble remaining oatmeal mixture over the top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350, or until the topping is golden.
