Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 3/4 c white sugar
- 2 t baking powder
- 1/4 t ground nutmeg
- 1/4 t ground cinnamon
- 1 t salt
- 3/4 c milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 t vanilla extract
- 1 T shortening
Glaze
- 1 c confectioners sugar
- 2 T hot water
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325°.
Lightly grease the doughnut pan.
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
Stir in milk, eggs, vanilla, and shortening.
Beat together until well blended.
Fill each donut cup approximately 3/4 full. Bake 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven, until doughnuts spring back when touched. Allow to cool slightly before removing from the pan.
To make the glaze, blend confectioners sugar and hot water in a small bowl. Dip donuts in the glaze when servings.
